MacWindowIdentifier allows you to easily spot the active window visually whenever you start holding down special keys.

Never “Cmd+A, Delete” on the wrong window again.

Expected Behavior:

• Basic functionality
  • When any modifier key (Cmd, Option/Alt, Control, Shift) is pressed, an overlay will highlight the active window as active and the last active window as inactive.
• Options (select Preferences from the menu in the menubar at the top of your Mac screen)
  • Always keep a colored border around the active window.
    • Adjust its thickness
  • You can choose the colors of the overlay or select a visual theme.
  • Check "Show overlays when clicking on a window" to give yourself a visual reminder of where you are - this just helps passively raise your awareness.
  • Check "Highlight all inactive windows" to show the inactive window overlay on all inactive windows, not just the last active window.
  • You can suppress display of the overlays using the Advanced settings.
  • You can delay how quickly the overlays disappear to reduce irritation with the "Clear overlays..." setting
